Tuition and Financial Assistance
King Street offers a sliding scale tuition model. Scholarships are also available. Our goal is to make King Street a welcoming and accessible space for all families. Enrolled families self-select their tuition rate based on their family income. We do not ask families to provide financial information. To learn more, please see our Tuition and Financial Assistance page.
Annual tuition is based on the number of days a child is enrolled and can be divided into ten payments.
Upon acceptance of enrollment, a deposit of one month's tuition is due. This deposit will be applied towards the June tuition payment. Deposits are non-refundable and may only be applied towards June tuition.
There are a total of ten months in our school year—September through June
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Children do not need to be potty trained to join any of our programs. We follow each child’s pace and provide respectful support.
-
Not at all. We welcome working parents, part-time caregivers, grandparents, and other trusted adults. Our model is flexible, and we’ll help you make it work for your family.
-
Families help in the classroom one-third of the day(s) their child(ren) attend and take on a co-op job (like helping with laundry, fundraising, or site maintenance). Family jobs are assigned by a King Street Board Member (and fellow parent) based on your interests, skill sets, and school needs. You’ll also sign up for two cleaning shifts during the year (or opt out for a fee) and take part in two community-wide fundraisers.
We’ll guide you through every step, and we’re here to help you find a rhythm that fits your family.
-
Yes! We offer a Full Drop-Off option for families who are unable to volunteer for classroom shifts. This allows you to enroll your child without in-classroom responsibilities on those days. You can choose to make all of your enrolled days full drop-off, or select just a few, depending on what works best for your family.
Families who choose this option pay 150% of co-op tuition for the days they select as full drop-off. To keep this option accessible, the full drop-off rate is capped at 150% of Tier 4 tuition, even if you are in Tier 5 or 6.
All families — whether choosing co-op days, full drop-off, or a mix — participate in the broader KSCP community by holding a family job, attending parent meetings, and supporting school-wide events.
If you have questions about how to structure your enrollment or about tuition options, please reach out. We’d be happy to help.

Inline with our family friendly philosophy, caregivers are able to bring another child preschool age or below with them on their working shift. To keep our child:adult ratio low, a limited number per day is available so please include this on your application. To calculate the cost of a Plus One, please see our sliding scale tuition calculator.
