Tuition & Financial Assistance
At King Street Cooperative Preschool, we believe that a joyful, play-based early education experience should be accessible to all families.
That’s why we offer a sliding scale tuition model and flexible enrollment options to help fit a variety of family needs and budgets.
Our tuition model reflects KSCP’s core values:
Family-friendly: Families self-select their tuition tier based on household income — no financial documentation required.
Anti-bias: We seek to remove barriers and ensure that all families, across a range of backgrounds, can participate fully in our community.
Child-centered: We aim to meet children and families where they are, with options that make our program flexible and welcoming.
How Our Tuition Model Works
Your monthly tuition depends on:
1. Number of days enrolled per week
You can choose how many days your child(ren) attends. Tuition is based on the number and type of days selected.
2. Co-op Day or Full Drop-Off Day
Families can choose:
Co-op Days: Pay standard sliding-scale tuition. A grownup participates in the classroom as a Family-Teacher approximately 1/3 of the days your child(ren) is scheduled to attend.
Full Drop-Off Days: Pay 150% of co-op tuition for selected days, with no in-classroom responsibilities for the grown ups on those days.
➜ Families can choose full drop-off for some or all days your child(ren) attend — it’s flexible.
➜ The full drop-off rate is 150% of the co-op rate for Tiers 1-4 tuition. The full drop-off premium is capped at Tier 4; even for families in Tiers 5 and 6, you pay 150% of the Tier 4 tuition, to keep this option affordable.
3. Income-Based Tier
Families select one of six tuition tiers based on annual household income and family size. You self-select your tier; no financial documentation is required.

Example Tuition Scenarios
Here are a few sample tuition scenarios to help illustrate how this works:
Scenario 1:
A family selects 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) for one child.
They choose all co-op days and select Tier 4 for their tuition tier.
Their monthly tuition would be: $165 + $180 + $165 = $510 per month.
Scenario 2:
A family selects 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) for one child.
They choose one full drop-off day and two co-op days, and select Tier 4.
Their monthly tuition would be: $165 + $180 + ($165 x 1.5) = $593 per month.
Scenario 3:
A family selects 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) for one child.
They choose all full drop-off days and select Tier 4.
Their monthly tuition would be: ($165 + $180 + $165) x 1.5 = $765 per month.

Plus One Benefit
KSCP is proud to offer a "Plus One" benefit — caregivers may bring a younger sibling (preschool age or below) on their scheduled co-op day for a small additional fee, making participation more accessible for families with multiple children.
