King Street Parent Stories
“Our family joined King Street when our oldest daughter was a toddler, and we stayed until our youngest was off to kindergarten. We feel lucky to have found this community. Our kids have learned so much through play and following their curiosity. They have made close friends, while gaining the skills to solve problems collaboratively. We have also grown as parents. King Street’s parent education, and the support of other families, has helped us through the ups and downs of parenting during the preschool years, and beyond.”

“We feel so grateful that King Street was our whole family’s first experience with pre-school. Maggie and Ami are incredibly nurturing, supportive, and respectful of every single child - so much that I never felt guilt or sadness about dropping my daughter off at school, even on days it was hard for her. I knew she would be taken care of with the same dedication and love she is at home. We’ve grown as parents because of what we’ve learned from the teachers and fellow parents. And most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves it. Her teachers, the play spaces, the other kids. It’s a really special experience all around.”

“King Street is a very supportive environment for all kinds of kids, and teachers Maggie and Ami have been fantastic in helping to develop my son’s emotional intelligence. When I heard him say at school “I know you’re having a hard time right now, but she’s using it,” I was floored, but I think that kind of response perfectly represents the kind of sensitivity and language skills that are encouraged at King Street. There is so much care and patience that the teachers and parents show for the kids. King Street has been a great introduction to co-op preschool for our family.”

“My family have been with King Street for nine years. King Street parents are an integral part of the school, which gave me a chance to build close friendships with other parents and the teachers. All three of my children have met their best friends at King Street, and most of my friends come from that community too! I chose King Street because it allowed us to bring younger siblings to our working shifts. The community supported me through two pregnancies and a pandemic. I cannot recommend it enough!”
